⚙️ How It Works
How do I convert a YouTube video to MP3?
It’s simple: (1) Copy the YouTube video URL from your browser or the YouTube app. (2) Paste it into the input box on our homepage. (3) Select MP3 format and your preferred quality (128kbps, 256kbps, or 320kbps). (4) Click Convert and wait a few seconds. (5) Click Download to save the file to your device.
How long does the conversion take?
Most videos convert in 10 to 30 seconds. Short videos under 5 minutes typically finish in under 15 seconds. Longer videos such as podcasts or lectures may take up to 2 minutes depending on server load.
What YouTube URL formats are supported?
We support all standard YouTube URL formats including: regular video links (youtube.com/watch?v=…), shortened links (youtu.be/…), YouTube Shorts (youtube.com/shorts/…), and playlist video links (youtube.com/watch?v=…&list=…). Playlist links are automatically cleaned so only the specific video is converted.
Can I convert YouTube Shorts to MP3?
Yes. YouTube Shorts are fully supported. Paste the Shorts URL (youtube.com/shorts/…) into the converter and it will work exactly the same as a regular video URL.
Can I convert very long YouTube videos like podcasts or lectures?
Yes, long videos can be converted. Videos up to several hours in length are supported. Keep in mind that longer videos take more processing time, so please be patient and keep the browser tab open during conversion.
🎧 Quality & Formats
What audio quality options are available?
We offer three MP3 quality options: 128kbps (good for podcasts and speech), 256kbps (excellent for music, most popular), and 320kbps (highest quality, best for audiophiles and music production). WAV format is also available for lossless audio output.
What is the difference between 128kbps, 256kbps, and 320kbps?
Bitrate refers to the amount of audio data per second. 128kbps produces smaller files suitable for voice content. 256kbps offers a great balance of quality and file size for music. 320kbps is the highest standard MP3 quality — it preserves the most audio detail and is nearly indistinguishable from the original source, but produces larger files (around 7MB for a 3-minute song).
What is the difference between MP3 and WAV?
MP3 is a compressed audio format — smaller file size, works on every device and platform, perfect for everyday listening. WAV is an uncompressed lossless format — much larger files but retains every detail of the original audio. WAV is preferred by audio editors, music producers, and anyone who plans to edit the audio after downloading.
Will converting to 320kbps improve a low-quality video’s audio?
No. The output quality cannot exceed the source quality. If the original YouTube video has low-quality audio, selecting 320kbps will not improve it — it will only produce a larger file with the same quality. 320kbps works best with high-quality source videos.

🔧 Troubleshooting
Why is my conversion failing?
Conversion failures are usually caused by one of the following: (1) The video is private or age-restricted. (2) The video has been removed from YouTube. (3) A browser extension like an ad blocker is interfering — try disabling it. (4) Unstable internet connection. Try refreshing the page, disabling browser extensions, and pasting the URL again. If the problem continues, try a different video to confirm the tool is working.
Can I convert private or age-restricted YouTube videos?
No. Private videos, age-restricted videos, and region-locked content cannot be converted. Our tool can only process publicly available YouTube videos that are accessible without logging in.
⚖️ Legal Questions
Is it legal to convert YouTube videos to MP3?
The legality depends on how you use the downloaded content. YouTube’s Terms of Service technically prohibit downloading videos without explicit permission. However, converting content for personal, non-commercial use is generally considered acceptable in many regions. Downloading copyrighted music or videos for redistribution, resale, or public performance is illegal. Always ensure you have the right to download any content you convert.
What types of content is it safe and legal to convert?
You can safely convert content that is in the public domain, licensed under Creative Commons (with permission to download), content you created yourself, or content for which you have explicit permission from the rights holder. Copyright-free music channels on YouTube — such as those providing royalty-free music for creators — are also safe to use.
